All lectures are based on the assumption that professor knows better what students should learn. All topics lectured are more or less chosen by professor. I would discard this assumption as I think that students in higher semesters have enough basic knowledge to decide what are they interested in for themselves. Therefore I would organize subjects which would provide only basic title (for example: Epigenetics), all the topics in the subject would be chosen by students. Students would via the simple poll choose the topics one month in advance and professor would than organize the lectures. Either he would have to prepare himself or he would find the scientist/other professor to give the lecture. I believe that would greatly improve the efficiency of lectured topic and provide very diverse knowledge for both students and professors.

ETH-Angehörige können in einer geschlossenen Datenbank Probleme, Ideen und Projekte erfassen. Probleme können z.B. von Forschenden erfasst werden, die dann Inputs/Lösungsvorschläge von Studierenden erhalten (Crowd-Sourcing). Dabei können auch Geldbeträge oder andere Preise ausgeschrieben werden (vgl. z.B. Atizo Plattform). Studierende und Forschende können auch Ideen erfassen, die sie momentan nicht selbst umsetzen können, die aber von anderen genutzt werden könnten. So wäre eine Ideendatenbank vorhanden, die man zu Rate ziehen könnte, wenn man z.B. irgendwo eine Projekteingabe machen sollte, oder zusätzliche Mittel erhält. Als drittes Standbein müssen (!) Professoren alle Seminar-, Bachelor- und Masterarbeiten, Studentenstellen u.ä. auf der Plattform ausschreiben, damit da die Informationslage besser und dementsprechend ein besseres Matching erreicht wird.
